All visitors who intend to travel to the Republic of Kenya must have an approved Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) before the start of their journey. Kenyan entry visas are now exclusively issued electronically, with passengers required to obtain their eTA before departure.

Standard processing time is three (3) working days. Applicants wishing a faster turnaround or requiring assistance should apply for premium service.

We recommend pre-arranging airport transfers through your hotel or using official airport taxis. Ride-sharing apps like Uber and Bolt are also available and reliable.

Matatus (minibuses) are the main form of public transport but can be confusing for visitors. We recommend using ride-sharing apps or taxis for convenience and safety.

The Kenyan Shilling (KES) is the local currency. Major credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and larger shops. ATMs are readily available in Nairobi. It's advisable to carry some cash for small purchases and tipping.
Purchase a local SIM card upon arrival for affordable data and calls. Major providers include Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom. You'll need your passport for registration. Most hotels and the conference venue will offer free Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi is widely available in hotels, restaurants, and cafes in Nairobi. The conference venue will have high-speed internet access for all attendees. Mobile data is affordable and reliable in urban areas.
Nairobi is generally safe for visitors, but standard precautions apply. Keep valuables secure, use hotel safes, avoid displaying expensive items, and use reliable transportation, especially at night. The conference area and major tourist spots are well-monitored.
Kenya operates on East Africa Time (EAT), which is UTC+3. There is no daylight saving time adjustment.
English and Swahili are the official languages of Kenya. English is widely spoken in business settings, hotels, and tourist areas. Learning a few basic Swahili phrases can enhance your experience and is appreciated by locals.
